Hey, rare beauties!

To be honest, I don’t know what is it with my love for lip balms! I’m slowly becoming, if not already addicted to lip balms. I’m a strong believer in having moisturized lips for obvious reasons. Abi, do chapped/dry lips look attractive to you?
If you’re a regular visitor here, I’m certain that you didn’t miss this post on my lip care routine (if you haven’t seen it, you should! And share it with that friend with chapped, dry lips! Trust me, he/she would thank you later).
I wouldn’t say I’ve tried a lot of lip balms in the market because I’m not that kind of girl, I can’t just be putting my money anywhere. But, I have definitely tried a few- from the old Chapstick days to Vaseline, to baby lips by Maybelline and one horrible lip balm I tried from a Nigerian brand, I can proudly say- I have found my best lip balm, yet.
I won this from a giveaway and I give God the glory because left to me… Maybelline was bae. But, now this is BAE OF LIFE!

If you see how I’ve been using this thing ehn…tiny tiny because I don’t want it to finish lol, now you know this is real love.

Glossier describes the balm as- A hydrating, long-lasting, do-everything skin salve that’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, irritated skin. The dense, waxy texture stays in place to seal in moisture wherever it goes. So good you’ll want one for your bag, one for your other bag, and one for your medicine cabinet. If I may add, I totally agree.

The Glossier dotcom lip balm is a hydrating lip balm that comes in a tube. It is neither solid nor liquid- a perfect in between texture and a little goes a long way. The consistency is very soft and smooth especially during application- you can practically feel your lips transforming.

It has a little shine to its look, extremely moisturizing, hydrating, the smell & lasting power is one word- BOMB. I received three flavors- rose, cherry & mint.

  • ROSEThis actually has a rosy smell with little or no color/tint on the lips.

  • CHERRY  – This is my favorite (obviously, lol), I’m a sweet-scented girl. This has a lovely smell and tint to it and just reminds me of strawberry whenever I use it.

True love right here, lol.

  • MINT- This has a fresh, mintly smell and feel on the lips.

These three flavors contain key ingredients- castor seed oil, beeswax, Cupuacu fruit extract- an organic, long-lasting moisturizer that contains omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids that melt into the skin on contact.

I apply this in the morning and at night, especially at night. I can forget to apply this during the day cos I do wear lip gloss a lot but at night, this is a must. Honestly, I feel like my night routine is rubbish if I don’t apply this. I wake up in the morning with my lips feeling soft and hydrated- this doesn’t mean I would still have lip balm on lips till morning but, my lips wouldn’t feel or look dry either.

The packaging is beautiful, very handy and the fact that it’s a tube, reduces the amount of dirt that can get to the product. The description makes me smile, it’s so effortless! It says- apply this to your lips, elbows and anywhere that needs love! How sweet!
I really don’t have anything on the bad side for these guys because I love it.
Sadly, I don’t know anywhere this is available in Nigeria neither do they ship to Nigeria 🙁 However, it’s available online –

Price- $12 (trust me, it is worth every penny! I’ve been using just one as seen in the picture above since AUGUST, 2016 and I still use it as I write this.)

Now tell me how you gon be in 2017 with chapped lips? How? How? How? Get you some lip balm!
what’s your favorite lip care product/lip balm? Let me know in the comment section below…
PS: I don’t think I’ve officially wished you guys a Happy 2017!, Happy 2017 guys!

  • Great post. As always!
My favorite so far is the Mary Kay lip balm and I use it mostly at night cuz like you, I use a lot of lip glosses during the day. I'll try glossier tho because the Mary Kay lip balm was more expensive.

  • Thank you. You should try Glossier, I promise you'd fall in love.
